Rekindle The Reformation

I suppose we could go back past Martin Luther but really it was the day he nailed his 95 theses to that Wittenberg door in 1517 that the reformation was kindled. Considering now the ramifications of that event in church history, I cannot but wish we had another Wittenberg door on which we could hammer another demand for reform.

The reformation saw a complete overhaul of the church, the dead liturgy was replaced by hearts ablaze. From where I'm standing, I'd say that the church today needs a dramatically renewed zeal. This site exists so that you who use it may find that passion rekindled in your heart, so that you can nail that door until it leaks.

I chose the name “Rekindle” with the slogan “The Reformation” for its double meaning. This site's goal is to rekindle reformation principles. To see Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone) the tag line of the pulpit, Sola Fide (Faith Alone) and Sola Gratia (Grace Alone) the united thankful praise of the congregation and Solus Christus (Christ Alone) the cry of all Christians and all things Soli Deo Gloria (for the glory of God alone). Secondly, because this site is a reformation, a call to holiness in an age of compromise, a call to truth in an age of skepticism, a call to Christianity in an age of passivism.

So I would love to see this site grow and be the door at which Christians 500 years from now look back to and say was the Wittenberg of the 21st Century, where God called His people out of complacency and into a relationship that exploded across the world in missions and evangelism.

Let us, by the grace of God,
Rekindle | The Reformation.
